What it is

The CEX Fees page is a comparison table of fees on centralized exchanges: spot trading commissions (maker/taker) and withdrawal fees by network. The data is collected for 10 exchanges: Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, MEXC, Gate.io, KuCoin, BingX, WhiteBIT, HTX and others.

  • Spot maker/taker — the commission for placing a limit order (maker) or taking liquidity (taker)
  • Withdrawal fees by network — how much the exchange charges to send a coin over a specific network
  • Both types of fees directly affect your result: a 0.1% commission difference on 10 trades and a few dollars on every withdrawal add up over a year

How it works

Spot fees are synced twice a day, withdrawal fees come from the exchange data collected into a database. The calculator uses this data to find the cheapest way to move a coin from exchange A to exchange B:

  • Direct route: withdraw from A over a network that B supports — the calculator compares fees of all compatible networks
  • Conversion route: if a direct route is too expensive, the calculator suggests converting through another coin (e.g. USDT → TRX → USDT) taking into account trading commissions and price volatility
  • The result is the estimated total cost of the transfer in dollars

How to use it

  2. 2. Choose the coin and the amount you want to move
  3. 3. Compare the direct route and the conversion route — the calculator will show the cheapest option
  4. 4. Use the fee matrix to compare maker/taker commissions before choosing an exchange for regular trading

Why TRC20 is usually cheaper: a real example

Withdrawal fees depend on the network: TRC20 (Tron) transactions cost very little, so most exchanges charge about 1 USDT for a USDT withdrawal over TRC20, while ERC20 (Ethereum) costs 4–5 USDT or more depending on network load. Example: you need to move 5,000 USDT from Binance to Bybit — over TRC20 the fee is about 1 USDT, over ERC20 about 5 USDT, and BEP20 (BSC) is also cheap. On the /cex-fees page you immediately see all three options with exact current values, and the calculator will also check whether converting to another coin would be even cheaper.

Tips

  • Always check the receiving exchange network list before withdrawing — a cheap network that is not supported on the other side means a lost transfer
  • For large amounts, compare the conversion route: sometimes converting to a coin with a cheap network is profitable even with commissions
  • Maker orders are almost always cheaper than taker — use limit orders for regular trading
  • Fees change, so re-check the matrix before a big operation rather than relying on memory

What is maker and taker?

A maker places a limit order that adds liquidity to the order book; a taker takes liquidity by executing an order instantly at the market price. Maker fees are almost always lower — some exchanges even pay a rebate to makers.

Why are withdrawal fees so different between networks?

The fee reflects the cost of the transaction in the network. Cheap networks (TRC20, BEP20) have low transaction costs, expensive ones (ERC20) depend on Ethereum load. Exchanges pass these costs to the user, adding their own markup.

What is the difference between TRC20 and ERC20?

These are different networks: TRC20 runs on Tron and is cheap (about 1 USDT per transfer), ERC20 runs on Ethereum and costs several times more. The coins are the same USDT, but the address format and fees differ — always send over the network supported by the receiving exchange.

Does the calculator take volatility into account?

Yes. For the conversion route, the calculator uses the price volatility table, so the estimate includes not only commissions but also the risk of price change during the transfer.
